I freehand embroidered this Amanita muscaria mushroom based on a photo I took of one in the Alaskan forest, where these incredible organisms are found in plentiful supply every late summer through fall. Often there are so many in one spot that it feels like there surely must be a red-hatted gnome just behind a tree waiting for me to leave so he can finish his frolic round the fairy ring.
